Games To Avoid
There are certain games to avoid in the casino where you pretty much have no chance of winning. The house edge on these games is generally over 5%, at the very least 3%. Here’s a brief list:
Slot Machines: While some have good payouts, the vast majority have house edges of 10% or more. If you really must play slot machines, either do your homework and find slots that have higher payouts (the payout percentages are generally posted somehwere) or just admit that you don’t really care about the money and just need the enjoyment
American Roulette: In roulette, the house gets its edge by adding a ‘0′ to the wheel. Without this green 0, a black/red bet would have even expected value, since it pays 1:1 and there would be the same ratio of black/red. In European roulette, the house adds one 0. In American roulette, there are two zero’s (a 00 as well). This brings the house edge to 5.3%. Yikes!
Caribbean Stud: A confusing game with a high house edge. Even if you learn the game properly, you’re still facing a house edge of just over 5%. Not worth it.
Mississippi Stud: A weird, uncommon game with a high house edge just shy of 5%. Best to be avoided. If you really must learn more about this game, check out this article at Wizardofodds.com
